This has been our busiest year yet…and we haven’t gotten to interact with you as nearly as much as we would like. So much has changed since last year. Great things have been underway, including a completely new album and a west coast tour.
As most of you may know we have been feverishly working on a self titled full length album for too long. It was a beast, and at times we wondered if it would ever see the light of day.
December was coming to an end and a new year was beginning…this is when we took a real left turn…and had a true epiphany. We decided to drop the old album, all the work that we put in it, all the money, and time, frustration and heartache…and a new album was born.
We now have a new direction.
Since January, our hands have been glued to our instruments, our ears stuffed in headphones, and our brains wrapped around our new conception. All our time has been spent writing new songs, reinventing old ones, jamming together, and constantly strengthening this new concept album.
Most musicians understand all that it takes to make a record. There is so much involved…physically, mentally and emotionally. It becomes your child…you want to spend all your time with it, play with it, hug it, love it, and make it love you back!
Your album becomes your life…until it grows up, and you can push it out of the nest.
August will be quite a memorable month. We are not going to be recording this album ourselves, which is a first for Spindle! We are handing this tedious task over to a mastermind Engineer/Producer and we’ll be recording our first session at Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, WA.
Bear Creek is an amazing place; a converted barn located on acres of secluded forest. It hosts a plethora of different recording rooms including: The Big Room, The Wood Room, and The Hippy Room. And aside from the decadent recording options, the location is absolutely gorgeous and unbelievably inspiring.
They’ve recorded artists such as Team Sleep, Alice in Chains, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Gossip, Lionel Richie, The Album Leaf, Blonde Redhead, The Black Heart Procession, Tragically Hip, Eric Clapton, Pretty Girls Make Graves and more.
Many of those artists have inspired us through the years…it’s an honor to be recording in the same creative place as them. We are so excited!
We’ll be writing a daily blog and posting photos while we’re in the studio. It’s our way of sharing our experience with you.
Be sure to check back throughout August for the first blog.
The blogs and photos will be posted on our...

We're back...
with lots of goodies…
the first being the new demo up "Bait"
the song sprung up while tracking for the new album…
The Spindle girls have been busy working on a barrage of exciting new things
with some bigger fish
including but not limited to a couple of music videos and a new album.
We're not completely out of the shadows…
just slowly emerging…
xoxoxo,
Spindle
*ps...we've also added lyrics to the lyrics section of the myspace player, and on our music page on this site...for all of you who have been asking :)
Black cats, ladders, whistling in graveyards…
Perchance, hap chance…
Reoccurring sevens…
The mystery of suspicions, and coincidences has bewildered mankind since our very inception. With all the scientific research, existentialistic investigations, and religious dogmas there are still no answers.
Nothing settling. Nothing consoling. No end.
Still, there is a constant and relentless quest to find these answers…
Finding some kind of answer…
Finding the right questions….
And amidst these seemingly childish pursuits, we find even more perplexity…
Irrationality…
Timelessness…
This past Saturday, on the seventh day…in the seventh month…of the seventh year…we made a big decision as a band to take a break…
During this time, we’re going to be writing…
Growing, and exploring new landscapes…going beyond ourselves…for a brief moment in life…
We’ll keep you posted…
Love,
Spindle
Hello girls and boys...
Spindle would like to thank everyone that came out to the show last Saturday. There is surrealism like no other that we enter into while performing. It is always inspiring to meet people that not only listen to our songs, but who also share the same love of music, and the sanguine atmosphere it creates.
Unfortunately not everyone's best interest is in the music. I'm mainly pointing fingers at the sharks who make a considerable living off of live music, and then make it considerably difficult for the musicians to justify supporting their own music scene. This is, no doubt, why there is such a popularity and monetary decline in many local music scenes, affecting anyone from venues to performers. Just a few observations that we've picked up on in the few years we've been here in Bellingham, Washington.
Nevertheless, we are gaining speed...creeping into this year's hopeful and better half. The first day of summer. So far, it has been a mild one here in Washington, which is really quite pleasant. With any luck this will be the beginning of a stream of abundant times, full of surprises that we have been dying to share with you...
Summer Raindrops + Sunshowers your way,
Spindle
Beautiful things are falling together, bits and pieces falling into the right places...
Recently we put up a live cover of NIN's "Reptile" on our myspace page, the Spindle edition of the classic tune. Go and have a listen if you haven't already. Be sure to check our page often as we will be putting up live recordings, cover songs, rare tracks, and b-sides throughout these coming months...some for a limited time only.
We are in the process of booking some Spring / Summer shows in the Bellingham / Seattle area at the moment. Dates and venues will be posted as soon as they are confirmed so stay tuned!
In every spare moment we can possibly spare, we are vigorously writing and recording new songs for the album. We've been spinning together some wonderful creations; experimenting with new sounds, playing with new ideas, and unraveling compositions into existence. It is SO exciting. We can't wait until you get to hear them, and we LOVE hearing feedback from you all!
Cyberhugs!
Spindle
To our lovely friends,
We are (surprisingly) already well into this new year. Winter has begun to relapse back into his hibernation, as the trees shake off his chilly residue and everything begins to awaken and welcome growth and new beginnings.
We've recently played a few local shows here in Bellingham, and are now delving deep into recording new material; songs that are aching to be spun together. Crawling back into the studio, shutting the door, drawing the curtain closed, and saying goodbye to any social life whatsoever, it's time to get down and dirty again. Beautiful things are on the verge of being formed...
Check back for updates, as we will be posting up new songs on both the website and our myspace page. We are planning some more shows come late spring and summer, so stay tuned for the dates and times.
We truly love you all and appreciate the continual, immense support. Recently, we met some local Spindle fans, and it was absolutely delightful. Seeing that our songs have influenced or inspired someone somehow, or even just caressed their soul in a way only art and music can, is truly a wonderful feeling. The greatest of accomplishments a band could wish for.
That's what making music is all about...
Love,
Spindle

Hello to all... Spindle is back in the studio, recording some goodies for your anxious ears. A few new songs are under way, as well as a revisitation to some older tunes, and an exploration of some cover songs...
In addition, Spindle is currently collaborating with some amazingly talented musician friends of theirs, to celebrate the beautiful seasons of the Autumnal Equinox...
Spindle is also in the midst of planning some new shows...
Be prepared for some wonderful suprises!
Spindle's limited 5 track EP, "hell hath no fury..." has been officially released today! You can pick one up in Bellingham at either Everyday Music (on Magnolia), or Avalon Music (on Railroad)...or you can get your copy through the Spindle Store. There are also stickers and buttons (t-shirts coming soon!).
Spindle would like to extend a warm thank you to all who came to our show at Fantasia on October 14th. It was a pleasant little break from the confines of our recording studio. We had so much fun being there playing music for you. It was wonderful and encouraging to have so much support, and to see so many familiar (and unfamiliar) faces. You all contributed to the awesome experience!
Congratulations Bob!!! Our local guitar teacher, Bob McDonald, won the guitar! It was great seeing it go home to deserving hands! Bob is a maniac on the guitar...playing anything from the most impressive Classical masteries to the loudest in your face Metal. Ironically enough, Bob could be the missing link that we've been waiting years for...
P.S. Your days of hoping and praying for another Spindle show will come to an end very soon...We are planning a few new shows to finish off the good ol' year of 2006. Check our myspace page for the latest venues, dates and times.
Much Love,
~ Spindle
